Glorious moment.

The e-Club Christmas LAN Party is finally over. My team for the Team Fortress 2 competition emerged as champion too.

We won RM1500, shared among the 6 of us. I've also won the Left 4 Dead competition, of which I earned a Centurion CoolerMaster casing, and an extra RM100.

I'm very happy with the result, only a little disappointed as there aren't as many teams joined the Team Fortress 2 competition as I thought.

Speaking of which, I've met my one of my old gaming friends again. She changed a little I guess, as she was much....rougher back then. =P At first she couldn't recognize me, though she thought I looked familiar and approached me. Since I do remember her, I told her we've met before, and she remembered. We talked quite a bit, and I might have gotten her interested in Team Fortress 2 too. ;]

Well I guess it's time to lay off from too much hardcore gaming, as I still have an assignment to hand up, and exams are drawing near. (I'm sure I will not be able to stay true to my words though xD)

Hopefully I will be able to get pictures of the tournament soon.

Our reality is checked!

So, the first day of the e-Club Christmas LAN Party is all about the latest survivor horror first person shooter game from Valve; Left 4 Dead.

There are about 30 computers free to play, only Left 4 Dead, to promote the game. So basically me and my friends went there early to get some fun session and to get used to the different settings.

The competition starts at 2pm, due to the Expert mode being "too hard" for some of them, its voted to be changed into Advanced instead. Which is easier by a clear mile. Since me and my friends have played since the release of the game, it is not as hard for us, and we plowed through the map in 25 minutes.

The organizers decided to add some extra kicks. Expert game mode, of which the winner gets RM100 for each member. We played again, but in a much slower pace. Though we still managed to go through the map in 50 minutes, which is still a record for all of us.

So, my team bagged both sessions. Prizes will be 4 (four) Left 4 Dead themed CoolerMaster casings, and RM100 for each of us, which will be presented on Sunday.

I am very proud of myself, and also to my mates. I would extend a special thanks to them, because without them, there will be no me, and no REAL.

The time has come.

So, tournament starts tomorrow, exactly on Christmas day. I will be there competing. It will be at Rock Cafe, just behind Sunway Pyramid. If anyone knows where it is or wants to come, do give me a call.

Will not be there on the 26th though, as that one is postponed to 27th. But I will still be there 25th, all day long =)

Reunion

Went out with my old schoolmates again, this time to a pretty weird place; The National Zoo. I have no idea what makes them want to go there, but I followed them anyway, for the sake of friends. Wasnt that bad, besides the part that walking is very tiring.

Went with them to a steamboat & bbq restaurant at Pandan Indah, the place where we usually hang out once in a while. It's been a tradition I guess. We stayed there for...2 and a half hours, eating and chit-chatting. There were so many things to talk about, since its been quite some time since we last saw each other.

Tournament is in less than 2 days, my anxiety is growing greater and greater. Hopefully I will not disappoint my team.

Sounds of Steel

Went out to Bukit Bintang today together with some of my classmates to conduct a survey for our assignment. Not as easy as it seems, in such a hot weather condition too. We only took a couple of picture for each of us to be featured in the assignment, but it should be more than enough.

On a side note, I have purchased the SteelSeries Siberia Full Size Headset.

It costs Rm270, but it is totally worth the price. The earpieces are so comfortable I can hardly feel that I'm wearing it. The sound quality is amazing, and the bass is simply great! Totally no regrets getting this one thanks to suggestions from some of my gaming friends. =D

With this, my collection of gaming hardware is complete. Razer Deathadder Mouse, Razer Tarantula Keyboard and SteelSeries Siberia Headset. Unless mousepads are counted, but I do have the Orange Box and Left 4 Dead gaming mousepads =P

Nostalgic

Ah, to go out with my old high school friends is great. It feels like forever since we last went out. We've never got together ever since one of us departed to the States.

How long? 3 months according to one of them, and it didn't even feel that long.

We watched a movie titled "Yes Man" starring Jim Carrey. It's been a while since I've last watched a comedy in a cinema, it feels so good to have ea good laugh with my best buddies. Enjoyed the show so much. This movie is recommended for everyone.

Tomorrow I'll be going out again, this time is not a leisure outing. Me and my group are going to conduct a survey for our assignment. Tough job for a shy guy like me huh? Well I guess I could try to overcome it, or else this is gonna cost me in the future.

Time grows short.

Ah, we are approaching the end of year 2008. Feels like I'm growing so old, so quickly. Although I do not want time to pass so quickly, there are a lot of things that I really look forward to.

First would be the upcoming gaming tournament at Sunway Rock Cafe. Its only a week away now, and I am very anxious and excited. I will be leading my own team for Left 4 Dead, and as a member in another team for Team Fortress 2. Full details will be available here.

Secondly is the new and final semester for my Diploma. The only reason I look forward to it is because I get to make a real advertising campaign in my college. There will be a lot of stuff to do, but I'm sure I will enjoy it, and all the blood, sweat and tears me and my classmates shed will surely pay off. This is where we will test our teamwork and bonds to the fullest.

Will graduate from Diploma after that, and I will most likely continue my studies to Advanced Diploma.

Nothing much has happened recently, its as if life is boring =P

Well, guess I'll just see. Whatever happens, happens. Only time will tell. =D

Good start.

SATURDAY, December 13th - Residents of Loke Yew Road got woken up by a loud crashing sound, followed by 2 police sirens. Incident happened about 0700 hours, residents were awoken after hearing loud crashing sound, police sirens followed, and shortly thereafter, a few gunshots were heard.

The result of this pursuit of what appears to be a cargo container was a cab got caught in a corner, resulting in a crash, and dragged on for about 50 metres. A car which happened to be driving along the road is also involved as it got crashed together while trying to give way for whatever is being chased. In yet another corner, the "Chee Cheok Lam" arch, which have been there for a long time, was torn down, which obstructs the road. It is believed this is the reason why cops left the car to pursue on foot, and fired a few shots. While the driver leaves from where they went in to continue pursuit on the road.

Stay tuned for more updates.

The cab is facing the wrong direction. The result of the crash
The "Chee Cheok Lam" arch, torn down, and the unlucky vehicle

Update: It appears the trailer truck was hijacked from Old Klang Road when the driver stopped to take a leak. Apparently the hijackers isn't good in handling a trailer, the employees quickly called their employer and they give pursuit, while keeping the police updated as they go.

The chase goes all the way to Loke Yew Road, which the truck made a turn into the housing area with a very narrow road, and the following events occurred.

The overturned truck on the scene.

Wrong place, wrong time.

I have found out that the venue for the gaming tournament this Christmas has been changed. It seems that the organisers are having a little financial problems to make it at Berjaya Times Square. Apparently the publicity in the city center wasn't worth the extra spendings.

It is now changed to Rock Cafe, around Sunway. Behind it to be exact. I have been there once. Though I will need guidance to go there again.

Sunway is pretty far for most people. I would love to have my friends around to support me in this tournament. They would definitely prefer a mall because we can hand around when I am not playing, but since it is now a cyber cafe, theres nothing they can do.

Guess I have no choice but to play the best I could without support then =/

December 7th, 2008

Nothing much has happened this past week. Only a lot of things to prepare for, and anticipate in the near future.

First, will be the Drama Presentation in class, which me and my group is supposed to act out the scene we have chosen in class. No reading from script whatsoever. I am still procrastinating instead of trying to get the script down in my brain.

Secondly, the upcoming gaming tournament. This will be held at Berjaya Times Square, from 25th to 28th December. I will be participating in 2 of the games available, which covers all 4 days (Talk about parking fee, geez). Whoever interested to cheer me on, or simply to watch all the hype the gaming community can bring, just drop by. It will be at the new Digital Centre at the 2nd floor.

I have also found a pair of cute female Japanese singers. They are not only good looking, but can also sing and dance Live.

Amazing aren't they? They are called "Halcali", which is a combination of both their names "Halca" (Haruka) and "Yucali" (Yukari).

Both of them look great, but I prefer Haruka ;)
